This module examines typography as a compositional tool;the architecture of type from the single letterform to an entire page layout and logo. Participants will understand how typographical movements affects the psychological behaviour,as well as enabling them to make typography work as an integral element of visual form.

At the end of this module, participants will have a clear understanding of hierarchy and typographic formalism through development of functional and visually engaging compositions using any volume of type within any given space with areas that covers:

• Research on an assigned typographer including local ones

• Manual and computer crafting of type
• Type classification
• Understanding logotypes
• Types as a design element

• Freehand & Calligraphic styling
