Job Description

·To assist Head (Resource Development) in developing a Youth Development Resource Portal that will serve to enhance the capabilities of youth organizations and improve the quality of youth development programmes locally.

-To develop, plan, coordinate, implement and manage the Youth Development Resource Portal targeted at youth developers (e.g. teachers, youth workers, volunteer youth workers) and youth leaders.

·To identify and consolidate relevant youth development tools, resources and information that will be useful for a wide spectrum of youth developers and leaders in their varied youth development work, for example:
- Youth development tools and resources (Service-Learning, mentoring, facilitation skills, overseas community project management etc)
-Library of resource materials (local and overseas research, manuals, books etc) from NYC and the youth sector organisations
-Support (e.g. funding schemes) provided by other agencies (government or private sector)
-Key research on youth trends & issues,
-Training & Development for youth developers
-Youth Sector Development (e.g. organisational development, marketing for non-profits, board governance etc)
-Sources of funding and grants schemes

·To gather & collate information and resource materials/content, for example
-Searching for relevant local and overseas information and content locally in other government agencies, non-profit organisations, philanthropic foundations or private sector corporations
-Contextualising overseas resource materials to local context, making it relevant for local youth developers
-Liaising with Youth Sector Organisations to contribute resource materials/content

·To write and edit resource content for the web portal.
-Writing articles as well as collating and presenting the consolidated findings in a user-friendly web interface targeted at the various stakeholders
-Setting guidelines for and editing submitted articles, manuals, resource materials from the youth sector
-Ensures the currency of the web content

·To liaise with web vendor for the development and maintenance of the resource portal
-Organising collated content
-Design and layout of portal
-Ensuring content flow & ease of use and update

·To assist the Resource Development section & NYC in any other projects and activities.

Requirements

·A good degree in any discipline. Candidates with degree in Arts, Social Sciences or Human Resource Training & Development have an advantage.

·Minimum 2 years work experience in youth development, social work or training and development field.

·Good analytical, writing, communication and project management skills. Have excellent interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of youth development stakeholders..
