Responsibilities:

 

  1. Shall be responsible and undertake all safe berthing and unberthing of vessels at the yard.

  2. Shall be responsible for the safe launching of newly constructed vessels.

  3. Shall coordinate with all parties concerned during the berthing, unberthing & launching operations.

  4. Shall represent the docking department to conduct all Risk Assessments for all docking department’s activities.

  5. Shall be able to lead and manage a team of shipwright personnel to execute all docking operations.

  6. Shall be able to liaise with clients, marine authorities, launching parties, tugs personnel or any other personnel involved in the operations.

  7. Ensure discipline on board is maintained at all times.

  8. Ensure time-keeping and house-keeping are being complied in accordance to company’s working regime.

 

Requirements:

 

  1. Be able to prepare and submit reports for all activities.

  2. Must be familiar with Marine Port Authority of Singapore’s rules and regulations on all docks operations.

  3. Must be familiar with Ministry of Manpower’s rules and regulations on Health Safety and Environment

  4. To be able to work irregular hours

  5. To be able to work daily including week ends and public holidays whenever required

  6. To be able to interact with a multi-racial team of personnel

  7. To be able to exude professionalism and good work attitude to fellow subordinates and clients

  8. Liaise with Contracts Dept and Project Managers on the selection of sub-contractors.

  9. Liaise with Procurement for all Docks material requirement.

Educational Qualifications:

 

  1. O-level of equivalent of 5 years experience in a small and medium sized shipyard as a senior docking personnel
